going to the grand canyon armed with my k-30 and an 18-55 mm kit lens...any pointers?

Hey all! here is my first picture from Grand canyon. This is day 1 of shooting, so they only gonna get better as the days go on

I am posting the un edited , and the edited, using light room. any feedback/criticism is welcome...I'm pretty sure I overdid the editing a bit, but I have no formal training and just went with my eyes

In terms of composition I think the landscape shots lack focal points of interest. There isn't anything interesting in the foreground to guide the viewer's eyes. Just my humble (and amateur!) opinion
