Vivitar and chinon lens focus turning friction

Most of my lenses are Pentax ones. I have 2 lenses I recently got. The Vivitar 28/2.8 CF and Chinon 50/1.7 M42. It is very easy to turn the helicoid compared to the Pentax ones. Is that normal or are these dried out?

I don't know. But, I have a M42 Chinon 55 f1.7 and its focus ring has the least resistance of any of my manual focus lenses.
It doesn't hinder my ability to focus, but it is different from what I'm used to.

I've got 2 Vivitar 28's and the Chinon 55 and they turn very smoothly, no better or worse than most other old lenses I've got. The Chinon does seem better build quality, but the Viv's are good.
