I just wanted to put up a warning for a "SMC Pentax 85-210mm F3.5" That is being sold over and over on ebay.
First, I purchased this lens on ebay Sep 25, 2012 from ancientthymes. The Focus collar was broke. I then sent it to Eric H and he informed me it was tampered with before and advised me to return it. I did. A few weeks later it was back up on ebay and i said nothing. THEN i seen it listed once again on Dec-29-12 and asked about the lens... I was lied to saying he got it from an estate sale. When confronted with the serial number etc the seller then played dumb. It was sold once again anyways. Now it was just re-listed and taken down but i suspect it will show up soon. I wanted to inform everyone cause I know how upset i was and the money i lost sending this lens out to Eric and all my shipping cost and lens cost. I did not want this to keep happening to other who would like to get this lens.
The lens is easy to spot.
1. It is in a Nikon Case.
2. The Close up attachment is missing.
3. Serial number is 5108401
Here are the original ebay listings.
