which fast zoom first?

I would like to purchase a fast zoom for weddings/events/parties etc. But my I can afford only 1 at the moment, I don't know if I would buy the short 17-50mm sigma/tamron or the long 50-135/150mm should I prioritize. current set up includes;
2 k-30
18-55wr
75-300 tamron cheap version
DAL 35 F2.4
DA 70 F2.4
2 Metz Flashes

Please advise. Thank you.

I use my DA* 16-50mm much more than I use my DA* 50-135mm.

Look at your current photos. What FL range do you use more?

you already have 18-55 covered. Thequestion is whether the sigma would be enough of an upgrade to justify the cost, or to get something better in the longer end.
Also, You should examine which end of the range you enjoy/need more.

If you're using it for family stuff, not theater or weddings or other places where quiet is imperative.... the Tamron 17-50 2.8 is an awesome lens. I got mine new for under $400.

The Sigma 24-70 2.4 lenses are great - there're screw-drive and HSM versions available.

I have had my Tamron 17-50 for several weeks, and have used it for 5 parties. Image quality is great, and the 2.8 aperture allows low-light photography with flash only for special situations. I think it can easily handle a wedding up to 50 mm (75 mm on cropped sensors). It is plenty wide for the group shots, and has the effective 75mm range for more distant shots and portraits. If I were doing a wedding, I would probably throw in a special portrait lens, and my usual choice is my 77 ltd, but you might want a longer lens, maybe something around 135 mm. In fact, for a two-camera wedding setup, would probably go for the Tamron 17-50 and the 77 ltd on the second body. I do not regularly shoot weddings, however, and some regular wedding pros may have some different ideas.
