Which lens to keep? FA 50mm f/1.7 or Sigma 50mm f/2.8 MF Macro?

I have a tough choice to make. Trying to raise funds for Sigma 17-70 lens I need to sell one of the lenses that I have. They are Pentax FA 50mm f/1.7 and Sigma 50mm f/2.8 Macro (manual focus).

Honestly I do not use the FA 50mm that often but having f/1.7 at my disposal is just gives me peace of mind if the low light situation occurs. On the other hand, the Sigma is a macro lens and I think might get more use even it is only manual focus (though with macro lenses AF is not something I would use anyway).

So please help me choose. I am leaning toward leaving Sigma as the new 17-70 lens will cover what the FA 50mm can and I still have the macro lens available. Keeping both is not an option so one has to go.

Thanks, Alex

You already answered your own question. If fa 50/1.7 is least used, it is sensible to rid of the prime and stick with sigma 17-70 you are going to get.

The sigma 50mm f2.8 has a macro capability and you seem to utilise the lens from time to time. Then no point getting rid of it because of the brand itself. I thought sigma 50mm f2.8 macro has autofocus. It is a hell of a good lens and it is actually getting more expensive since 2 years ago.

Keep the 50 macro lens. It is more versatile than the 50 prime, even at the expense of losing 1.5 f-stops. Besides, I think the FA prime would fetch good money.

Thanks guys. I know that I pretty much answered my question in the original post, but wanted to get your opinion just in case I was about to make a stupid move. FA goes on the marketplace.
