I say that's a smart choice (; you'll love that you have something wide enough with a large aperture that you can use indoors, and then you'll also be able to get a 50 manual prime for cheap for those much more intimate portrait shots (I don't have any trouble using my manual prime if I'm doing portraits, because I ask my subject to stay still lol) Make sure that your lens are well calibrated to the body because you're gonna be shooting with very shallow DOF. My first 50 prime is the M 50 1.7, I still have it till now (; I also got the A 50 1.7(Much more convenient than the M but same IQ) and now the DA 50 1.8, I'm getting the 30 1.4 next on my list and then finally the 55 1.4!
have fun!
This are some samples of the M 50 1.7
M 50 1.7 + reversal ring
This one is one of my favorite; I was still such a noob when I took this one, this was shot wide open. (I just got my camera like a month ago when I shot this). If only I shot this at RAW hehehe.
here's a bigger link to the picture If you want to take a peek on how sharp the 50 1.7's are. This is why I always recomend the 50 1.7's cause I know they'll be awesome.
