Thanks for that! I am currently pricing the 16-45mm. Though is not fast enough for my indoor work, it will be a great standard lens for my outdoor architecture photos. If I also get a 43mm ltd I may have a good combo for my needs.

And just to be perverse, here's a shot neither of these lenses would have helped me with! It was taken at 55mm and I could have used 70, methinks. Still, I am glad the bird waited long enough for me to snap a single frame.

Lens reviews can be helpful, but sometimes subjective (the reviewer might have just had a bad copy of the lens). Look and see for yourself:

Your own eyes are ultimately the best judgement as to what looks good to you.

No doubt you're right there Heather, but unless one can view the same picture with the same lens under very controlled conditions nothing beats actually having one in hand and trying it for a day. This also shows up performance features, feel, build, size, weight and other factors. Unfortunately that is out of the question outside the largest centres.

I have seen good pictures from all lenses, which reminds us that any lens can take a good picture. That's one of the reasons I've sprinkled images throughout this thread... to keep a balance between photos and gear. Despite what it may seem like I am not just a gear-loving freak.

Still, it's fun to research stuff to death... at least it is for me!

Well, the 16-45mm will be on its way soon! No one prime was going to cover the range I needed, and this way I get a nice wide angle end to play with. A 43mm limited will join it soon for low light interiors. This is going to be fun!

Thanks everyone for help.
