I just got my new to me 31mm (silver) from Albert Siegel. Wow do I like this lens. Of course it's snowing here so I had to shoot the typical test subject. Colour like I have never seen before and an image with nice bokeh/depth. Sharp as well. This is easily as nice, if not nicer than the A*85mm f1.4 I had earlier.
Hey steady on, those two lenses share the podium ;-)

Congrats, it's a great lens, I've had mine now for just over six years and the joy of using it does not diminish, mind you I loved it more on FF.

Off topic: Is Hardee's the Canadian equivalent of Carl's Jr?
Nope, I am in Lynchburg, VA (USA). Hardees is a chain that Carls Jr took over a few years ago, they kept the Hardees name but changed the logo to the Carls Jr star.

I had just gotten my K20D that morning & carried it with me to lunch. I took that while sitting in the drive thru, I thought the colors & text would be a good test shot.

JB, Those really show off both. The lens is stunning and that crop of yours could stand alone. Awesome combo. I know what I'll want soon enough when the bodies are in Canada.

I got out today with the 31mm. even though the weather was dull and gray, it still performed great.

100% crop of the shot below. The colour and IQ of this lens is something different as others have said.

WOW indeed! I really should not have opened this thread and viewed the photos. Now I want one also. Small issue of being able to afford such a fine lens. I guess I will have to start saving some coins on the side. That said I am very impressed with the quality of the photos. I do have one question - whats that white stuff on the railings?

A little hesitant to be off-topic but got to give your 31 a bit of competition

Deep blue sky produced by my DA21 (no special filter was used).

I almost wish you guys would stop posting that kind of pictures when I just come back inside the house after getting the driveway cleared of another 40cm. of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, congrats for your new acquisition.

Yer pissin' me off!!!
We've had that "white stuff" for 3 months now and the storm blowing through Quebec has started here. I'm supposed to catch a 06:30 flight tomorrow....

Hope you caught your flight with no worries Peter. I would love to discuss the merits of climate change - but I have to go outside now and wash my car - 70 degrees F today. The only white stuff I see are soap suds.

This is the only gratitude I can get since I don't have that fine lens.

That was some flight. It took me 3.5 hours to drive a 1.5 hour run to the airport in 14 inches of snow at 03:00-06:30. I just made the flight only because the snow was so deep thy delayed the flight. Only one side of the road was plowed the whole way so I drove on the wrong side of the road for a little more than 100Kms. No traffic of course, I was the only idiot on the road in the middle of a snowstorm at night.

They closed the bridge from the island I live on to the mainland (13.9 Kms long) right after I crossed as the winds were hitting 100Kms/hr. Then I get to my destination (where I am tonight) and Air Canada lost my bags.

Can't wait to get home....

Very nice! The K20D and 31mm Limited look to be an excellent combination.

Thanks Albert, this lens is a true keeper!

Just a test shot with new 31mm 1/80th, f3.2 ISO 200 Pretty limited DOF but I didn't want to fire the flash to test this.

100% crop

Extremely impressive

I recently got the FA31 Ltd myself and after only doing a day of snapshots so far I have to say I'm absolutely amazed by this lens.
