I have both the Tamron 17-50 and the 28-75. The 17-50 is much sharper.

When I travel to places where I can take a heavier load, I carry 2 cameras: one with the 17-50 and the other with the pentax 50-135. That's a nice combo! I use the 28-75 when I only want to carry one camera but don't need need much of a wide angle.

Pentax K 45-125 Constant F4 - like owning a sack of primes.
