The DA55-300 and DA18-135WR are probably equal. Plans are to get a DA*300 and put that on the list. Of course back in 2011 the 15 was the plan and I haven't got that yet.

On Film: K105/2.8 because of what I tend to shoot on film (close second a35~105/3.5)
On K10D and K-01, by far: FA35/2 because that lens somehow produces the look I most often strive for, especially with the K-01.

My FA31 is my most useful (and my favourite) lens. Second most useful would be my DA*50-135 even though I love my FA77 a lot more.

My DA 40 XS because it's always on my K-01 and my DA 15 because it controls my mind.

Thanks to the OP for stoking LBA!

Like many here, I use a variety of lenses and will choose one depending on the job or particular photo outing. However, I am finding that the Pentax-F 35-70mm is versatile and handy for many purposes. It's not the sharpest lens in the bag (nor the prettiest), but it renders well, produces rich colour, focuses precisely and accurately on my K-5, and can be depended on to do it's job. It's my most useful lens at the moment.

Second choice would be the DA 35mm Ltd.

If I were to be marooned on a deserted island, I'd grab the F 35-70 before jumping ship.

i'd have to say my most usefull lens is my FA20-35. It's got the ultra wide thing going for it on film and although focal length is limited on digital and it's a little slow, it's sharpness makes up for it.

Which lens use the most?

43 ltd
50 macro 2.8
77 ltd
tamron 17-50
In about that order, but really I use all of them fairly regularly except some in overlapping focal lengths,.Pentax-A 50mm 1.7 for example, trumps the 2.0 and the Helios 58 mm.

As birding is my most common subject my SMC Pentax M 400/5.6 get the nod.

Followed in order of most frequent use:

K 200/2.5
DA 70/2.4
A 100/2.8 macro
DA* 16~50/2.8

and the rest about the same level of use.

Used most? At the moment K28/3.5 and M150/3.5.
But useful for the longer term? That has to give more flexibility. FA24-90 or Sigma 17-70.

Ditto, on all three counts. The FA31 is incredibly versatile and also stellar quality. If I had to give up every other lens I own this is the one I would keep; it is a rocking normal lens on APS-C, a great wide angle on film, and a spectacular telephoto macro on the Q.

The DA*50-135 is rapidly becoming my most used concert lens (along with the DA*16-50) and my love of the FA77 is not related to its usefulness, but to its beauty, tactile pleasure and image quality when I do use it.

I have some more expensive lenses (FA31mm Ltd, DA*55mm) and some mid-ranged priced lenses (DA 40mm ltd, DA 10-17MM Fisheye), but my 18-250mm is my leave-on lens (IE it's always put away with that lens on incase I need my camera fast). I am quite impressed with it's sharpness for a "low-end" zoom (except past 200mm, where it definitely drops off), and it's versatility can't be beat... I was going to say "for the price" but I'm not aware of a lens for Pentax that covers this range besides their new 18-270mm (mainly at the wide end, however, if someone knows of one I would definietly like to hear )
