What M42 Tele lens for WEDDING video??

Hi,

Can someone recommend a few telephoto lenses for a wedding video? Preferably m42.
I'm not sure what focal length to get for my crop sensor, because I've never shot a wedding before. but I think a tele is needed for the ceremony.. Also, preferably as fast as possible, like f2.8

√ Sharp
√ Fast
√ Telephoto
√ Appropriate focal length for a wedding
√ Not too expensive

Thanks!!!
Nicole

I can see lots of disagreements here as a function of preferences etc, but if you are looking for something to give you really soft bokeh for the out of focus regions, go for a preset that has a round aperture at all F stops.

I have several starting at 105mm F2.8 (vernon Edonar), 135 mm F2.8 (Tele lentar). 180mm F3.5 (Tokina) and 200mm F3.5 (Takumar)

focal length is going to be a function of working distance.

Then do you think maybe a zoom lens would be better??

Maybe that 85mm Helios. But I thought that for weddings you would need AF and good technical IQ more than artistic rendering

and 85mm on crop is something around 130mm. Actually it is quite convenient FL, with some distance held and also F/2.0 aperture. Also, jupiter can do some close up shots. Not a macro lens, but better than most 85mm

I'm no expert in either video or weddings, but I agree with Lowell. The focal length you're looking for will depend on how far away you are from the place you want to shoot. There's nothing quite like testing it out on site and see how you want to frame the shot, and find out what focal length that is. Remember that when the people move, your desired framing might change. A zoom would be handy for that.

I doubt sharpness matters much -- HD video is either ~2MP or ~1MP.
