I was surprised you didn't clean the rust off the hammer. Werent you worried you would get rust flakes in your newly adjusted lens?

Hope you recycle!

Junk lens or not, that was painful! (thanks though!) Did it come back for more after photo #4 or did you have to drag it back while it screamed for mercy?

That also works as a cure for yellowing Pentax lenses.

Brian Ayling's photographic repair tips
Brian is a good friend and he really enjoyed that day. He knew that he could have cured the yellowing but that lens had other problems.

Camera works fine , I put a sigma 28-80 on it ( metal mount ) and it runs fine ...

I just got some new CR2 batteries today , I have a MZ-50 that looks to not run right ( Donor for sigma 28-80 Lens ) , so Im not sure , I may have to take it out of circulation ...

So I will have a working MZ-5n and MZ-60 , and two donor lenses that work , a Sigma 28-80 and a 28-105 ( F2.8-4 ) ...

Hmmm , what to do with the MZ-50 ?

Hi Ray!

Good to see you here! How are you? I remember you and Brian from the Yahoo/Spotmatic forum. I remember when he posted it. It was one of the funniest posts I've seen on the web. That was a great forum. I have not been there in a couple of years.

Hi Imd91343 (whoever you are - it's hard to tell),

I am fine, thanks. And so is Brian. Spotmatic forum lives on but it is pretty quiet nowadays. Can't remember when I last shot a roll of film.

Smashing that lens looks liberating! I think I'll do that to my F 35-80mm that I can't seem to be able to give away, let alone use. It has to be the worst lens ever made. I mean even a Holga takes interesting pictures. The 35-80mm just looks like crap and takes even worse looking images, plain and simple.

...Now where did I leave that hammer...
