I can only comment on the 17-50mm Tamron. The performance is very good, except that the focus plane curves severely at the wide end. That's a known design flaw, so it's not the first choice for taking photos of brick walls, especially at wider apertures.

what you really need is a lens you will only find secondhand, and then only rarely, and that's the FA24-90. Much better, IMHO, than the average rating on the database suggests.
