I have the Sigma 30 and the DA40 Ltd. Kind of the opposite of the 31/43, because my 40 is across the frame sharp and the 30 is center super sharp at the expense of borders. Anyway, the relevant point is they render very differently, and the focal length difference is big enough to be important, but not so big that you feel that you need something between.

There are always enablers at PF. My walk about kit these days is 15-40-70 + 18-135. Seems to cover most of what I need under those circumstances. Now, when I go to soccer.......

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

...and that problem can be solved with a new lens!

Get the FA31 if you love nature, its sharp across the field of view has low distortion and great colour. Also makes for a fantastic panorama stitching lens.
I find it 'just' wide enough for most things and perfect for duo portrait shots and environmental portrait shots. The 43 imho faces off more against the fast 50s for a narrow DOF portrait lens.
If you love architectural bulidings/environments like me a DA 15 will be the go, or if you could find one a FA24.
Like suggested previously wide angle has greater variability in field of view so optimaI flexibility would be something along the lines of a DA12-24, DA16-45 for a smaller option or a FA20-30 to replace the need for a FA31 completely although not as B')

I use the FA43mm f/1.9 Special - on a Leica M9 and Monochrom. The issue I have with the FA43 is that it isn't very sharp in the corners at f/1.9, even on APS-C format cameras. On the other hand the FA31 is perfectly usable even at f/1.8 - which is reason enough to own one.

You're being fibbed to. You need all three. They're the main source of LBA. I'm almost at the end of my "Trio" journey having gone through two complete stages already. However you choose to get the lenses, just get them.

If I were in your shoes, I'll get the FA77mm first. Anyway, you have the 43mm as a nice walk around lens, but you'll need something good for shooting faces.

The 31mm can wait another week.

Just because you can, no justification required.

Don't forget the 15. You really need it too. Even those who have gone FA have a 15 (well many). Just look at Twitch's signature block
