K100D and SDM/HSM lenses

I have a K100D and have been noticing that many of the newer lenses coming out have HSM / SDM for faster & quieter autofocus. My question is whether these lenses are compatible with my K100D?

Just making sure, you don't have the super, right? Because the K100D Super does support the new lenses. However, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, the lenses will still work on your K100D, you just can't get the advantages of the new focusing. They should still focus like all your other lenses, at least that is how I understood it.

That's correct! The K100D will focus properly with the new Pentax SDM lenses... Not the Sigma HSM though, that will be manual focus only.

I do not have the K100D Super.

So the lenses are compatible, but just will not have the HSM/SDM feature?

Well,

you could put it that way. Sigma HSM will function, only the AF won't, that's the difference. If you like manual focus you could use them, but then you are paying for an extra that you can't use...
