I have had this lens for about two years. I am absolutely pleased. My friend, who also shoots Pentax, covets this lens mightily. She has borrowed it a few times and always returns with dramatic photos (that are also sharp, and in focus.) She is an impatient shooter who never uses a tripod, relying only on SR to do it's magic.
I'm afraid I am not a fan of putting any filters (even expensive ones) on my lenses. Back-to-back testing (with/without filters) convinced me that they rob a lens of sharpness and contrast. The better the lens to start with, the bigger the crime :-(
