Heh! We keep asking Pentax to act more like Nikon as far as the business goes (marketing, store support, other stuff) but then when they act more like Nikon we freak out (see the "other" thread).

I've bought plenty of refurbished stuff from KEH through the years and had no issues and the couple of problems I had, the body was replaced without question. My daughter shoots with Nikon gear and all of her stuff is used or refurbished from KEH. I fail to see why people are freaking out that Pentax unloaded this stuff to a reputable used camera dealer who gives a 6 month warranty. They could have wrote it all off, loaded it in a truck and took it to the dump.

I'm freaking out because I just spent too much money on other stuff. Damn. There's some DA*200s there I've got my eye on. Hopefully they'll still be there in May.

I wonder how well refurbished the somewhat notorious 16-50s are.

It's just marketing folks...the tally isn't even close to $600,000 and I've seen KEH hold much larger Pentax inventory. The listings don't look any different than they ever have. I've purchased from KEH many dozens of times for more than 15 years including an F*600/4 that I bought back around 1995. By all means, keep an eye on KEH for great listings of used Pentax gear, but those listings you see today are primarily gear purchased from the public not from factory refurbs or similar.

The good news is KEH finds Pentax business to be significant enough to merit an email campaign--I also received the notice and gawked the site that day.

I think that also "not all is visible" -- if they have 20 copies of the same lens all graded the same, you'll only see 1 or 2 entries and it will remain even if you buy it until they run out...
