Can you turn a 60-250mm into screw drive only

OK 25 months old, not a lot of use and SDM is dead. Will not focus and the eyes are too old for manual 100% of the time.

It works on an old K100 as a screw drive and I have seen other SDM lenes getting a hack to revert them to screw.

Is there one for the 6-250 and how hard to perform.

Not any where need a geek when it comes to this stuff. If it is not simple I will have to sell some blood or organs to send to Pentax to be repaired. I figure best to revert it if possible as I really don't want to have a repair fail when traveling and this is the lens I just can not do without.

According to the repair folks it will be a $220 plus shipping repair bill and about 5 weeks since they do not have the part in stock and it has to be ordered from Japan.

So boxing it up and shipping it off. If it happens again then hopefully I will find a way to revert it to a screw drive lens.
