question about third party lenses

when it says its compatable with pentax AF, does that apply to all pentax SLR cameras?

well..anything that has a Kaf mount
in theory, it should fit on all K mount bodies (old or new) BUT it wont have certain functions...(ie, af, aperture info from lens to body, focal length, etc, etc)

it wont fit on screw mount bodies...(anyone else chime in, i know i missed something)

what about SMC lenses?

SMC just refers to a coating (Super Multi Coat) that is applied to the lens. It's supposed to help minimize lens flare and ghosting and is arguably the best available from any manufacturer (refering to the coating not the lens itself).

I think it can be found on a whole range of Manual and Auto Focus lenses.
