Does anyone have first hand experience with this lens? the previous 70-210mm incarnation was very good. I'd like to know how this new version compares to the Fa* 80-200 2.8 or the sigma 70-200 2.8. Thanks

Not out yet...early to mid summer if we're lucky (you can search for info on this too...been covered a few times).
Canon mount is first and they're scheduled for April, then Nikon, then Pentax...

You can now order it from a couple of places and receive it as soon as they ship it from the factory....

Thanks for the info. i checked adorama online and it looked like they had it in stock. will have to call and see what they say. your pre order comment sounds closer to the truth based on other info. its a nuisance owning the red-headed step child of the camera family (when it comes to new lenses). i really like the k10d

The Canon release was actually due out today, but it has been pushed forward to April 3rd. So I'm guessing we'll see Pentax mount late summer...
