Tamron servicing cost (UK)

My Tamron suffers from front focus. Even adjusted to the max it is bad. I have also tried PK tether and to get it focusing OK means such an adjustment that my others suffer. Having a K-r I can't save more than one lens adjustment.

I would like to send it in to Tamron (out of warranty as bought second hand) but have no idea how much it might cost. I asked them and they wouldn't give an estimate without seeing it first.

Has anyone sent a lens to Tamron for fixing auto focus and can share how much it cost? I just want a rough idea to see whether it is worth paying the postage to send it in and have it returned again.

Johnsons Photopia are good, and being in Middle England you might not be far away.
