Yeah, people seem to forget that x-buy-addiction is not at all limited to photography. You made me think of my mother, who really loves sewing. She was always buying more and more fabric until the guest room was completely filled with the stuff. Oh, but it's on sale again! Gotta get more!

That might be the best advice I've seen so far.

You must of heard that one from a politician, cos they're all known to be liars.

Or should I say, specialists in dealing with untruths, if liars is a bit harsh.
In Australia one of our Pollies even coined the phrase "Non-Core Promise"...by which he meant "Lie".
He did have some "Core Promises"...or as I like to think of them "Not Yet Found To Be A Lie".

I'm trying hard to resist the idea of becoming a lens collector, but if I pick up the 15/21/70 to go with the 40 I already have, I'd be remiss to leave out the 35, wouldn't I?

For me the only cure for LBA is GAS- (guitar acquisition syndrome)
Got that one too. I need one more acoustic and two solid bodies(all PRS). Had CyclingBA and still have H-EABA(High-End Audio).

HOW TO STOP LBA?
Easy: once you have a copy of each version of every lens ever made with K-mount, LBA (like a flu) disappears by itself....

I've got LBA cured. I only need to buy one more lens and then I'll stop....
Gotcha - exactly one year ago I posted an 'oh oh I like my kit' thread. All three of the main lenses in the OP are now gone. Four months ago I had the true perfect-fit kit to match my type of shooting. Guess I changed a little as lenses have come & gone - but of course the new kit is even more perfect! Right?

Nope I can't convince myself but I'm about to retire so I'd better try harder to really like what I have! Good luck with your cure, I hope it works - most of the time.

There are only two cures for LBA. The first is acquiring all the lenses you desire...and the second is 'no money'. Actually...there may be a 3rd thing that would help..."more cowbell". LOL

No, see, it works like this:
  1. Sell the 40 Limited
  2. Buy the 15/21/35/70
You aren't an addict - you are a rational tool buyer.
  1. Buy the 40 Ltd. again the next time it goes on sale
NOW you have LBA.

No worries...Ricoh is working hard to find a cure. They have taken major steps including limiting/delaying new lens releases and more recently with large price hikes. Ricoh does care!
