Confused...

Hi guys,

Im back for your opinions/suggestions/etc...

Am about to buy a lens in exactly 5hrs from now... my dilemma? which of the 2 lenses.
Lets say both are rare (never seen them on sale until now, same seller...), both are (i suppose from our database section) top quality glasses and both are in good condition (just a 10 dollar difference)...

which one now?
M100 2.8 or K28 3.5?

Thanks in advance

Two completely different lenses - what lens do you need now is the real question to answer. Do you need to shoot at the 100mm focal length or are you after a more normal focal length, which is what the 28mm offers?

+1 for Ash.

But if you must insist, get the K28 f/3.5, for the simple reason that it's much harder to find.

Actually I need them both but not enough budget that's why I need to choose 1...
Both iq are outstanding...am afraid that the 1 I'll not buy is gone in a week at most...
Agree also that 28 is harder to find now. Headache grrrr....

I'd say the K28 first.. Skip the 100/2.8 for now. Why? It's easily "replaceable" by the DFA 100mm Macro WR? Whereas the K28/3.5 not so, tried almost all the 28mm and none seems to come close to the way K28/3.5 renders to me... Had 1, sold, and chanced upon another one in a job lot, never gonna let it go... LoL!

Subjective, but IMO, get the K28/3.5 first..

I have seen once in local market in last 3 yrs K28 f/3.5 for sale, while the M 100/2.8 had been listed several times.

Both K50 1.2 and K85 1.8 are extremely rare in my local market.
They were more available 12-15 yrs ago, not any more.

28 both because it is harder to find and because that focal length is more versatile.

Thanks a lot guys,
First impression with the 2 lenses...
Both are sharp wide open considering that I've been testing the lenses in a dimly lit coffee shop. The 28 is more contrasty and would say vivid colors. Both are working just fine with smooth focusing rings...
Love them both that's why am getting them both... The catch? I just reserved the other lens and will only get it when I make the full payment...
At least am keeping them both...
Again thanks guys and good night to all.
Peace

Whatever lens you will likely use the most. 28mm is a length I use. My 28/3.5 Tak has always been a favorite. But that's me. I really don't have anything around 100mm other than a zoom and an M135. I really don't shoot much in that range so I haven't bought anything. Now, an M100 Macro I would seriously consider. I could put one of those to some good use. I have more than my share of paperweights and dust collectors.

Not a bad choice getting them both. I can see the value of owning them even if I may not have a need. LBA strikes again! So what are you buying next month?
