I'm jealous- I'm saving up for the DFA100 WR at the moment, hoping the price doesn't go up!
Its the perfect gap filler for me getting a macro and telephoto prime for my K7 and will be an excellent ultra macro/long tele lens for the Q! B)
The "call in price" at B&H last week made me jump on it. I don't know if they are still honoring it. The longer Pentax keeps me waiting on their other efforts/offers, allows me to move that disposable income to other things!

Congrats on your new addition Lauren!
It's a highly sweet lens! This is the kind of product I love seeing from Pentax.
This lens out-resolves my K5. I LOVE when a lens does that!

Congratulations Lauren - I can feel your excitement from here! There's nothing like a new lens that performs like this one does.

I have only recently bought this lens, and though I haven't had much chance to use it much, it does look very promising. The fact that it is WR is a definite bonus.

Un-believable lens!!!! I was not expecting it to be *this* good.
It is, isn't it? I don't use it as often as I should, but it's such an amazing lens. And so small.

Tamron 90 is better!
Not really, no. The word you're looking for is "cheaper".

Optically they compare well, the build of the Pentax is better, it's smaller, MF is easier to use, it has WR, quick-shift. Images from the Tamron will not pale when compared to the Pentax, but the design of the lenses are very different.

I had the Tamron 90 for several months before I sold it for financing the DFA 100 WR ... it was a good decision to switch. No regrets at all, because the DFA is better, even optically IMO ... J

Congrats, Lauren. It is a stunning lens. I feel like they really could have given it the ltd label because it is just that impressive.

Just got mine last week I saw a Tamron 90 (the SP Di WTFBBQ version) in a shop and it's a big lens in comparison...it seems like it would take up double the bag space. I couldn't believe the D-FA could fit in my messenger bag side-to-side, I thought it would have to stand vertically.

Man, bugs are disgusting up close

So far, so good (with a big stack of NDs on the front of it)...

Good grief, it's like you live in a zoo.

Alligators in the pals garden, all those creepy crawly things at the beginning of this thread and now that thing at the window.

Note to self, Lauren to visit and stay with me, not me visit and stay with her.

Too funny!!!!

While Australia has many more things that will kill you, Florida isn't far behind!

It's not Norm and Tess, but I live on a little lake (not a retention pond) so I seem to have I higher quota of wildlife I wake up to.

Now you know why I spend so much time in the UK - and your lovely Scotland!
