Help requested for new DA* 200 lens
Hi:
Just received a DA* 200 lens. Using on my K5ii.
I returned the first one I received because the focus ring was loose. It wiggled and clicked. I have a DA* 300 and it is very smooth.
I just received the second. At the risk of worrying too much, I had another concern. When focusing, the lens is slower to focus than the DA* 300 and it hunts a little, even in pretty good lighting. It does not hunt all of the time, but the focus does stutter a bit.
The other thing I notice is when focusing it sounds different than the DA* 300 or other SDM lenses. With the other lenses the focusing sounds like a smooth "whoosh." The DA* 200, however, sounds kind of like a lens which has built in vibration reduction. Kind of like you can hear glass moving. All of my other SDM lenses (60-250, 300, 55) have that smooth whoosh sound, but the 200 sounds different. I had a Sigma with the built in vibration reduction and the movement of the glass to stabilize the lens is what the DA* 200 sounds like when it focuses (not exactly the same, but similar).
I had a 16-50 that failed twice. It was fixed after the second trip to CRIS. So, I am a little concerned.
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance.
