pentax Australia is as you have pointed out CRK. I suppose they were told to step in line by Japan. CRK being the Australian distributor would have to tow the line.

I was lucky as the Pentax forum made me panic and I purchased and received my 31mm and 77 Ltd a couple of weeks ago from Penax Aus. I was shocked to see how much they went up when I looked today. I would be paying an extra $500 or $600 now.

It would be nice if the really told us what their plans were. If you are into buying Ltds you are making a big investment. We really need to know where we sit
dcxpert is a CRK reseller.. I bought a Silver FA 77 for 760 from him today. They still have a few LTD's at the prices CRK was selling online a week ago. When I spoke to a CRK rep in Melbourne over the phone last week he told me they insist their eBay 'resellers' compete with grey marketeers.

The FA31 the "dcxpert" Ebay store that CRKennedy runs is $1099 for the Black one. They don't have it listed specifically in silver at the moment.

The cheapest silver one I could find locally this week is the CRK webstore $1199. $250 more than last week.

May have to save up for the Black Friday Deal from bhphoto later this year. All my Pentax lenses are imported from bh...

Stuff it, bought a black Fa77 from dcxpert for $760 while standing at the bus stop tonight That's two 77‘s coming to Adelaide this week!

This yoyo pricing is just stupid. Had been planning on a Fa43 as my first limited, but took the 77 before it jumped in price too. The 43 will have to wait

Hmm, it seems that raising the prices has actually INCREASED the number of FA limiteds bought this week, if the last handful of posts are anything to go by.

Maybe that's just what they were expecting us to do.

Pentax FA SMC 77mm F1 8 Limited Lens Silver | eBay

PS: I didn't read that properly.. sorry the link is for a Silver '77.

Here's a link to a black '31 from the same store.. message the guy (Brian) and ask him to list a Silver one and if there's one available he will.

Thank you very much. But if I remember correctly it was less than a grand before the webstore's price hike.

That's only because we're jumping on the lower price ($760) still available via CRK's ebay reseller (dcxpert)...in case that goes up as well.
The 77 went up to $899 a few days ago on CRK's website.

Before the recent price rises, the FA31 was going for $950, FA77 - $770 and FA43 - $584.

The AU$ has devalued by at lease 3% since the cheaper prices and because these lenses have been selling like "hot cakes" according to Scott at CRK they are ordering new lots all the time. Unfortunately I also missed out on the $584 FA43 lenses.. I'll probably forego that lens anyway..

Oh my bank account is doomed if I pull the trigger for that! I despise myself for not panic buying that time. So much regret. >.< Here comes the waiting game.
