I still have my original 1977 kit:

1 - Pentax Km - not working anymore, the inside protection against the outside light in the film compartment melted down. Can be repaired but I never did it, I’m exclusively on digital since 1996. Just like to look to it from time to time;

2 – SMC M 50mm 1.7 – still fully functional besides the fact my parents had it stashed away for years (in a dark place for sure!) and when it emerged it was (and still his) with a respectable quantity of fungus inside.
It takes great photos up to the quality standard everybody talks about, I just have to take care with the incoming light to not get too much haze from the fungus - keeping it just to look to it from time to time (and a “nostalgic photo) as I have the FA 50mm 1.4, the amazing Tamron 28-75 2.8 and the recently bought tinny DA XS 40mm 2.8 who cover it more than perfectly.

Best regards,

Still have most of it.

Bought an MX in 1981 with a M 50/1.4 lens. Later added a K2 and all the M and K series glass list below.

Sadly, I sold the M 100/2.8 to help fund an A 100/2.8 macro. Its a great lens but I still miss the old M 100 from time to time.

I started by using my father's gear - a spotmatic. The oldest piece I bought and still own is a Tamron SP90/2.5 that I bought for a Rollei SL35E, but have used with a PK/A adaptor.

My first SLR was a used Praktica it came with 2 cheap M42 mount lenses, a set of closeup lenses and a flash unit. I bought it in a garage sale when I was a grad student for $15 in the early 90s. I never used the flash unit and it got tossed years ago. I still have everything else. The digital gear I've still got everything, I've ever bought, but in my defense I've only been doing digital a couple of years.

I still have the DAL 18-55 (I had one with my K-x, but sold it with the kit and when I got my K-30, it also came with the DAL).
Other than that, most things have been replaced... the DA* 55 1.4 was my first real lens that I saved up for, though. Still have that one.

Nothing. My original camera (Yashica Lynx 1000) was stolen back in 1969.

That being said, I have since replaced it and currently the shelf has representative bodies of all but a few of the cameras I have owned. As for lenses, I still have almost everything that I bought new (even going back 30+ years) and have sold precious little of that I have bought used. I know...sick, sick, sick...

I've not used it in a few years, but I still have the MX, M50/1.7 and M200/4.0 I got back in 1979.

I still have my original lenses that I bought in the seventies:
300mm f/4, 24mm f/2.8, and 100mm Macro

I am so glad I kept them, they take me back to the good old days whenever I use them.

I've just repaired a Canon 135 / 3.5 that has been in a draw for nearly 35 years, the blades had oiled up in Death Valley heat and stuck open causing the mechanism to jump. I sold all my original Canon gear but not this faulty lens. Anyway, last week I cleaned and re-lubed it, and fixed the aperture mechanism, and I'm glad I did because even though it is the common slow 135, it is superb. And it's an old friend.

I still have all of it. It isn't all in my signature, but I do have it. I have the camera that I inherited from my dad when I took classes in college and I have the camera I bought myself at the same time. I only ever used the lenses that I got from my dad on it, but I kept the lenses too. I even have an old flash. I think that if I root around at my parents, I could still probably find my fisher-price blue 110 that I got for Christmas when I turned 6. I have the 35mm Olympus p&s I took with me on my high school exchange trip to Paris. The last time I rooted around their house I found the advantix camera that I took with me on my senior trip to France.

I think this is why even though I know I will sell the *istDL (I am promising myself that I will list it this weekend), that I haven't done it yet. That was my first DSLR. I had digital p&s cameras, but that first DSLR changed my life. I wouldn't have my own business if I had never bought it. It is kind of hard to part with something that means so much.

i still have the first lens i bought, a Pentax M50/1.7, because it is sharp for landscapes and small enough not to take up any space at all in my bag.

Yep. It's the helmet Thomas Bangalter (one half of the duo) wears in concert. It has an LED display across the eyes... but I don't know if it's ever read "Daft"
