I thought it might be interesting to see what any of you still have from when you started into SLR photography. This thought came into my mind a few months ago when I realized that most of the stuff I started with has been effectively traded for other things. It's sort of like a family tree when you track which lens was bought and what it "turned into" when it was sold.
I started with a K200D and an FA 50/1.4. I still have the K200D, but I sold the FA 50/1.4 and replaced with the M 50/1.7 and a white K-x. The M 50/1.7 eventually got upgraded to the A version. I also had an FA 35/2 that I bought a year after I got into SLR photography. I downgraded to the DA 35/2.4 and used the extra money to acquire an M 85/2. The DA 35/2.4 was sold to become part of the K-30 that I have now. The K-30 purchase involved a bit of deficit spending, as the
as-yet-unsold white K-x up in the marketplace is going to help pay for the K-30 as well.
Oh yes, the Metz 48 that I started with. I sold that to fund the purchase of off-camera lighting stuff: 2 Yongnuo YN 560s, wireless triggers, light stands, umbrella holders, and umbrellas.
My current signature should reflect my current gear set. For the foreseeable future, the K-30 and the M 85/2 should be staying put for a long while; the K-30 because it's brand new and the M 85/2 because it's such a great lens and hard to find.
