I am an artist with no budget... but have bought three lenses this month. I keep telling myself I'm going to have a hit exhibition and make the money back...

...at which point I'll buy the 77mm.

Damn, you've got it bad!
C'mon.. do you really need more than a 28 and a 50?! Let's be honest!

For me it was the FA77 and DA21. That may have been unwise given this graduate student's current financial situation...

The way things are going with my job, I am buying what I want now because I won't be making as much next year... I will have to try to get by on what I have now...

I've got it pretty bad too, although most of it has been with cheap lenses, thank goodness.
In the last month, I've bought...
Sigma 17-70
Quantaray 70-300 LDO
Sears 70-210/4 (which I'm going to have to do the Ricoh pin removal surgery on once I get it)
Vivitar series 1 70-210/2.8-4
Vivitar 2x macro teleconverter

The Sigma 17-70 is staying in the bag for sure, but I'm going to have to have a shootout between the Quantaray, Sears, and Vivitar once I have them all and decide on which one I should keep. I've also got a F70-210 that definitely is a keeper, but I wanted another one in the same range that's a little quieter and easier to zoom for the situations where I'd rather not have a noisy AF and need to zoom fairly quickly.

I still haven't gotten the macro teleconverter yet, so I can't say for sure on that one yet until I try it. It's been a week since I won the auction on Fleabay and no teleconverter; I emailed the seller to find out when I might expect to be getting it.

I found out today that our local camera store is going out of business (after I bought all these lenses, of course), so I'm going to try and get down there sometime this week to see what kind of deals I can get on accessory type items.

Tom,
Judging from your sig, it looks like you've got a pretty decent kit as it stands now. I wouldn't mind having some of your selections.

I can claim to be totally brain washed with LBA for cheap gear. I never thought I would have habit forming as I consider myself frugal. You see me often in marketplace [sold] items. I include a gift for every item I sell and I have made bunch of friends, that is the best part

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/sold-items/19308-sold-fs-items-funding-k10d.html

and that is not enough, I start donating unused gear to monthly photo contests and others.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/monthly-photo-contests/15924-donation-gea...o-contest.html

Others are welcome to join the efforts to pass your good but unused gear to others. I hope that can channel the LBA gear to some good use instead of collecting dust. The fortune and blessing can 'pay forward', just a silly (may be effective) thought to tackle the LBA flu.

When I started on dSLR with K100D, I have only 1 body and 2 lens combo and I am afraid to tell anyone how many bodies and lens that I have now. I was just as happy with 2 lens + 1 body.

Just a shame to share. My latest LBA includes prime with 20mm to make up my trio with 20/50/85mm

1. Spiratone 20mm f/2.8 manual in K mount
Spriatone Plura-Coat 20mm f/2.8 - Hin's Tech Corner

2. Vivitar 70-150 f/4.0 from Kiron -- this looks extremely promising as I love zoom that is small and well built but I have not even tested it. I bought this after I sell my Vivitar series 1 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 from Kiron which happens to be my best 70-210 manual zoom but it is way heavy for me to enjoy the lens https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/20166-vivitar-...est-shots.html

3. SMC FA 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 -- my best walkaround lens
Pentax SMC FA 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 Test Shots - Hin's Tech Corner

4. Tokina 19-35 f/3.5-4.5 -- my kit's lens replacement
Tokina 19-35 f/3.5-4.5 Test Shots - Hin's Tech Corner

5. Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 -- my best portrait zoom lens
Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 Di II Macro Test Shots - Hin's Tech Corner

6. Tamron 70-300 Di macro -- my DA 50-200 gets jealous
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/21087-lion-zoo-tamron-70-300-di-macro.html

I bought all these in Jan & Feb. I think I am fueling the forums into more LBA. As for me, I can't stop. I sometime pause for a moment to pick up my camera and the new lens and wonder when the HELL I can find time to take some shots with the new gear. Be careful, we all have more gear than we need -- I think I can attest to that thought 100%. I can't go back to 1 body + 2 lens, please help me stop that LBA/CBA/BBA thoughts.

I've been on another LBA run myself...

24mm/F2.8 Soligor C/D (K-mount)
135mm/F2.8 JCPenney (K-mount)
135mm/F2.8 Sears Macro (K-mount)

...and today I picked up a Super Takumar 105mm/F2.8 screw mount lens. There's going to be a lot of lens testing going on over the next week or so.

I am not just dealing with LBA. I am dealing with BBA/CBA with film bodies. I love those old film bodies

My nightmare starts with love and great interest and appreciation into all old film bodies from Pentax and I have sold all of my unused film bodies and manage to cut down to Pentax pz-1 and Pentax Super Program. Once I touched on these finest film bodies from Pentax, my mind never goes away with film lens such as those manual lens and the primes in F/FA series.

My super program with Spiratone Plura-Coat 20mm f/2.8

My

My Pentax pz-1 with FA 28-105 f/3.2-4.5

I love the digital but I get just as interested in film as in b&w and slides. And I have more excuses to get both digital and full frame lenses. And I am not afraid of M42 lens as I have the Praktica MTL5 film bodies to play with M42 lens without an adapter and I convert them from M42 to K mount lens whenever I find the need

How to convert Pentax M42 to K mount lens - Hin's Tech Corner

My desired prime trio for digital is the limited in 21/40/70. Thank goodness that I have not gotten any yet but I am using my trio with film lens with 20/50/85 which is 1/4 of the cost of the limited trio with 21/40/70. But I know from my past buying pattern and the LBA bad experience, I would likely to have trio for digital and another trio for film bodies. And it is four times easier to get a new lens than selling an unused lens, my personal experience.

You definitely caught the bug of LBA. Money down the drain pretty fast ...

I have to rest for a while and enjoying the outbreak of LBA in other pentaxians

I'm afraid you've all got LBF (Lens Buying Frenzy). It's easily cured. You take one lens & go out & take pictures with it. When you're satisfied with the results, you take another & do the same & so on. This should delay an onset of LBF for hours, maybe days.
