Sigma 35mm F1.4 lens porn

The new Sigma 35mm F1.4 "art" features an elegant design that fits the K-5 well, though I'd say that the lens feels a bit heavy on such a light body. I also took some test snaps and wasn't impressed by the sharpness, but the tests weren't controlled, so I will avoid making further comments until our in-depth review is posted!

Looking forward to your review. I wonder how it compares to the now discontinued 30/1.4 and the older series of fast primes?

It will be interesting pitting this against the FA31 and the DA35mm f/2.4

Not to mention the ZK 35/2.

It's all relative!

Compared to a K-x or K-01,
I wouldn't describe the K-5 as "light",
especially when ballasted with a grip.

It's pretty light compared to FF bodies for which this lens is designed You definitely need a grip and even then the K-5 feels a bit nose-heavy with the 35mm IMO.

+1. It would be really valuable and useful.....

By the way, great shot, Adam. The B-W adds nicely to a great shot.

Out of my price range. Do the forum rules say anything about not drooling all over a post, by the way? Beautiful combo IMHO and if the lens performs as well as tested on other camera brands, it's bound to be a winner.

Yeah, its pretty big. Like the others, I also can't wait to see the reviews and especially comparisons. Btw, do you think using a tighter hood (to make the image circle more APS-C) would improve its performance on crop cameras? Less light bouncing around in there, could mean better contrasts and sharpness

I love this lens. It is now my absolute favorite. It never leaves my camera anymore. I shoot with nothing but primes, mostly Pentax Limiteds or DA* class but none of them consistently give the IQ of this new Sigma. The images are tack sharp even wide open, the bokeh is fantastic and the colour rendition is so good the images almost have a 3D effect. This is Sigma's first lens in their new "Art" class and if they keep this quality up I will certainly buy more when they come out.

I love this sigma as well, one thing I would love to lose though is the green artifacts when shooting with the light source close to the FOV, But this lens is sharp @ 1.4 I love the close focus as well. I have pre-ordered the 18-35 as well, can't wait.
