well, holding the camera in portrait orientation is awesome for landscape panoramics and brenizer-style panoramics. Also, I hope to get good IQ from a lens consistently wide open.

Wow, these are fantastic! I love for my portraits to have sharp eyes and these are really remarkable! Great captures.

Thank you, it means a lot!, I took so many shots and kept it in live view to make sure it was right! It's way too hard for me at f/1.4.

The DA*55 has absolutely stunning pics. The AF is downright terrible. But it's portrait abilities are in a VERY high class, that ev.en that Sigma won't reach. The sigma has much better wide open sharpness and focus speed, but it won't match rendering ability of the DA*55. I'm convinced that the DA 55 is the best portrait lens for Pentax hands down. It's AF is a huge drag though.
