3 Pics, 3 Lenses....Can you tell which is which?

Iv'e got 3 pictures taken at the same time with 3 different lenses. Minimal PP using iPhoto. Can you tell which picture was taken with what lens? I won't drag this out. I'll give the answer tomorrow morning.

So we have Pictures A,B & C.

And the lenses are the DA* 50-135, the Kit lens 18-55 II, and the FA 43

Picture A

Picture B

Picture C

My guess as well. I'm hampered by not having any of those lenses :-(

I hate to pile on, but this is my guess as well based on the bokeh.

I agree with all of ou, th real tell tale is the ratio of the lily size to the fence boards. The shorter lens has a bigger foreground to background ratio.

Picture C is obviously taken at a longer FL than the others since the background objects appear larger relative to the subject-3 fence slats fit in the frame vs. 5 with the others. Therefore it must be the 50-135.

B is the kit lens because it is the picture with the slowest aperture. The other two are shot with too shallow of a DOF to be the kit.

That leaves A for the 43.

Adam is correct.

Adam is correct.
Given that the images were made with inconsistent framing, at different focal lengths and different apertures, with unstated parameters such as whether a tripod was used, the point of the comparison escapes me.

According to the EXIF data, A was made with the 43 at f/2.8 1/2000. B was at 42.5mm, which would be the kit lens, f/8 1/250. C would have to be the 50-135 at 95mm, f/5.6, 1/500.

Under the circumstances any comparative comments about bokeh are meaningless.

Sorry, if that's the case. I just had visions of a herd of bokeh monsters swarming over the horizon brandishing their aperture blades. .

You guys are too good. As most of you guessed the answers are:

A) FA 43

B) Kit Lens

C) 50-135

I was somewhat surprised myself of the IQ of the kit lens. However the FA 43 pic currently resides as my desktop picture on the 27" Imac.
