I have only used Pentax camera/lenses for about 2 month. Before i used Nikon. The Nikon lenses are faster, here i mean focus, some of the nikkor lenses are solo quiet so you don't even hire them :-) and the "old" D-models are also fast, some of them is faster then the G-models.
Non of my pentax lenses is fast like nikkor and all my pentax lenses make noises.
But i can't se my self go back to Nikon, because of my love to the pictures i get out of my pentax cameras

- Pentax 35mm 2,8 macro… I really like/love this lens. Soo sharp and the pictures have "soul" i really like. I may be the tastes lens i have in focus but no silence .-)
- Pentax 50mm 1,8 ( plastic fantastic ).. The cheapest lens i have , but like the nikkor ( also cheap ) 50mm 1,8 G its a very very very nice lens.. Very beautiful colors and noisy in a funny way
- Pentax 100mm 2,8 WR.. This is a LOOOOVELY lens, wow i like the pictures i get out of this. First time i tried in the store i was shocked over the noise and the slowlynes, and i prefer to use it in manual, i can really hunt a lot while i try to focus.
- Pentax 50-135.. This is the most silence lens i have, but its not a fast lens. But as i wrote earlier, i don't miss any thing from the primes with this lens… I love to use it.. And i am hoping that i could get the "same" out of using the 16-50, the 16-50 would be a good supplement. A 50-135 in one camera and 16-50 in another camera for my weddings.
I have almost, always this lens with me :-)
- Tamron 17-50 2,8… Hmm its not so noisy, but its not WR. And here in Denmark its rains a lot, so i would prefer to have WR. The quality is better then i have read about it, different places.
Its very sharp. The only problem i have with this one, is
If the subjective is long away, its not sharp. I have tried in many ways to "FIX" THIS PROBLEM, but i don't know what to do.

Sorry for my bad english :-) but i hope you understand.
Wish you the best
And if you get the chance to get or to buy a 50-135
buy and run :-)

Convert 50-135 to screw drive

Any members willing to convert my 50-135 to screw drive for $50.00? I will pay shipping both ways and release the member from any liability if things go sideways during the conversion process. I only have a K-5 and K-3 so can't do it myself. If willing just drop me a personal message and we can work out the details. Thanks.
