Reasonable price for K-28mm f2.0

What do you think is a reasonable selling price for a K-28mm f2.0, with perfect glass and some signs of body wear?

Should be less then $800-900 as you can always buy Zeiss 28mm F2 ZK (brand new). Both are same lens. The K 28 was optical design was done by Zeiss. Longtime back (2 years) I sold my K28mm for approx $500.

I bought mine at EX condition at Keh recently for around $450. Go figure. I don't think it should fetch more than that because the Zeiss is with aperture control contacts and that is so useful.

The Pentax K28/2 is a collector’s item and fetches a higher price because of that. It’s a rare 35 year old lens and not many were built.

It’s like comparing a 2013 Ford Mustang to a late 1960’s one.

I remembered you were "hunting" for it quite awhile back.

Hmm... Perhaps sell it at the same price you got it for? Or -10%?

And there should be an argument about this two being the same, but I think they are not. The Zeiss is very clinical. The K 28 has magic specially wide open up to 2.8, lovely for portraits, rendering is heavenly when subject is properly lit, and delicious bokeh.

Yea I was.... unfortunately I had a mishap where my K-5 and a few of my lenses were ruined so I have to sell this one to fill in some of the holes in my line up

It's a real shame because this is my favorite lens, but has taught me to be a lot more careful with my gear.

Is the current production Zeiss the same formula as the original Zeiss 28/2?

10 elements in 8 groups 9 aperture blades for the current Zeiss and 9 elements in 8 groups, 6 aperture blades for the Contax/old fashioned Zeiss. So the Contax/Zeiss is the one that might be similar with the K28. I need to research this further.

I was thinking Zeiss had changed it some on the more recent ones.

I hope I can test that new one or own it perhaps. The K28 has a little bit of problem with flare but of course in optimal conditions for it's age, it is amazing I don't think I would sell it even after I get the current Zeiss.
