I just got the 28 A 2.8 as an interim lens before I get the DA 21. I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. I think it has much better IQ than the 18-55 II kit lens.

Haven't checked the IQ, but I find the colors from the kit lens to be somewhat dull, which is never the case with the A28/2.8. As others have posted above, a 50/1.7 (whether M A or F) also does well and doesn't blow the budget.

Iwould agree with that. It is a much duller picture when compared with the A28.

Did I mention at all, how I favour the 20 mm.

I would prefer the DA 15 limited for landscape and the DA *55 as the perfect focal length for portraiture (corresponding to field of view of 85mm on full frame). I own the FA 77, FA 31, DA 40, DFA 100 and DA 200 as well, but prefer the first two I mentioned. But, once you start buying primes, there is no convenient stopping place....

Is that possible? Digitalis says he has over 100 50mm lenses and is still collecting...

It may not be possible, but that hasn't stopped me trying. I'm up to about 65 k-mount and M42 lenses. Its a bad addiction.

'Mostly for landscape and portrait'? While you can use any lens for anything, these are two very different usages.

Bear in mind that you don't really need AF for landscapes - they tend to be fairly static, and and you will probably be stopped down a good bit. Other people have mentioned the FA31 as a candidate, and if I could afford one I would buy one; but for landscapes, something like the K28/3.5 is much much cheaper, is easy to use, and will produce comparable results.

'Landscape' does not equate with 'wide angle', but if you wanted wider, DA21 is my choice. I think the DA15 is quite a specialist lens, not suitable for every situation.

Others have suggested good portrait options. An FA50 (either 1.4 or 1.7) would do the job, as it's a mild telephoto on APS-C and gives nice blurry bits wide open.

But then you might start lamenting the lack of FF, then comes a complete sell-off in the marketplace. And the cycle starts all over again

I have those two lenses as my only Limited Primes and they are very sharp. There seems to be a division of opinion as to whether the 77mm or the 70mm is the best Limited lens in that 'portraiture' category.

I know I wrestled with getting either one, finally decided on the 70.

In the end I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I also really like my 40mm Limited.

Also, although not Limited's....both the 50 F 1.4 normal and the 50 F 2.8 Macro...which I have...are excellent lenses.
The 77 is great , my only issue at times is just how long it is. It limited at times(no pun intended)
