The FA50/1.4 has some competition now

Whilst on 50mm lenses:-

What is the difference (in terms of image quality and focussing speed/acccuracy) between -
[a] F-50mm/1.4 & FA-50mm /f1.4?
[b] F50/2.8 macro & FA50/2.8 macro?

Sigma really can't make up their mind - first DC/DG - plus the 50/2.8 is a "standard" lens, whereas the 50/1.4 is a "tele" lens - huh?
