Macros with A50/1.7

I picked up a few new toys yesterday and got to play with them earlier today. I attached my A50/1.7 to a set of Vivitar Auto Extension tubes (68mm total)and then to a Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing TC (at 1:1). Here are some pics from my very informal comparison of these 2 methods of shooting macros on the cheap. I didn't have any real subjects, so I pulled a dime out of my pocket and took a few shots of it.

This was a really informal test. I was using available light coming in through the kitchen window and the sun was setting pretty quickly, hence the exposure issues. I don't know if I gained much from this test other than learning that the TC gives me better DOF control. I've never really done macros before, so this was an opportunity to have some fun and see what the possibilities are with these setups.

I obviously have a lot to learn.....any observations or comments are more than welcome.
