CA or color fringing in pentax da 50mm f1.8

First of all, thanks much for all ur help with my queries. I m loving my k30 n pentax color more each day still have nikon but more for back up now.

Now, i have the da50mm f1.8. I noticed quiet a bad CA or green/magenta fringing around contrasty area. Read around some reviews n some sites said CA is good for this lens but some said bad. Hmmmm... Am i getting a bad copy? Never noticed CA in my 50mm nikon lens (i m an amateur n not pixel peeper), but with my da50mm straight out i can tell around my wife's hair with backlit background or even in smoke with dark background. 2 cents please? Thanks very much.

Let me be the first to ask you to post some examples to see how bad it is?

Are you shooting Jpeg? Raw?

Looks like the CA's there because of the OOF area. That's fairly typical, I'd say.

That's average for any lens.

Wow, if that is average for any lens... I am almost afraid to go back and look at my photos...

I remember I never saw PF until someone else pointed it out,,, then I saw it everywhere!

I dont think I have seen this green in hardly any of my lenses, but now I am afraid to look.

Um, the shot of the (birthday cake?) smoke was ridiculously awesome. CAs were the last thing on my mind. For what that's worth.

Yep, that's bokeh fringing and common on lenses. It clears up in the OOF as you stop down to f4.
Great shot of the birthday candle smoke, that's a keeper!

Well, with modern large monitors, we have all become pixel peepers.

I once pointed out some purple fringing to my 5-year old a few months ago and now she is always pointing it out in all my wide-aperture shots. It's like a game to her.

Yeah, once you notice it you see it all the time. It's bad enough having it in images, but I wear glasses and also see it in IRL all the time (CA though, no bokeh fringing... yet ).

It's a really simple quick fix in PP with ACR and probably most other PP software, don't worry too much.
