My Local Camera Store Actually has Pentax Lenses In Stock!

I can't believe it. Our local camera store "Camera Corner" in Davenport Iowa actually has a small stock of Pentax lenses for sale. Will wonders ever cease? Their current stock......

1) Pentax DA 18-135

2) Pentax DA* 16-50 ($1,299)

3) Pentax DA* 60-250 ($1,399)

4) Pentax D FA 50 2.8 Macro ($599)

I had the store clerk take out the DA* 60-250 lens and checked it out on a K-30. Good Lord this is a monster of a lens. I've got the DA* 50-135 and the 60-250 is massive compared to it. I was really interested in the extra focal length of the 60-250 compared to my 50-135. Actually I was quite surprised at how little I perceived the extra 115 focal length. It really does not seem like much, so for now I will hang onto my 50-135 and enjoy its small size and ability.

The D FA 50 2.8 Macro looked rather interesting but what I really need/want is the DA 21. Too bad they didn't have any of those available.......

Be curious to know, in their own words, what brought them back as a Pentax retailer (assuming they dropped Pentax to begin with, like almost everywhere else in the US). I mean, we know why most B&M shops dropped Pentax, but how did they get back in. If you happen to stop back in, maybe ask them, and let us know!

+2 to that. Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to see my local shop carry Pentax, my experience with them is less than stellar. Every time I deal with their attitude, I tell myself I'm not going back. Then one day I realize I'm out of film or need a random accessory and I'm back in.
