After playing with the FA-77 today... I decided to pull out my Nikon 105mm f2.5 and try it on the K-01

At 2.5 the focus peaking does help get the eyes... this may not be an FA 77 but it does have a definite 'look'

actually it is sort of the 77 ltd in Nikon lenses--one of the 3 or 4 greatest lenses (50 f1.4, 55 f 3.5, 105 f2.5, 180 f2.8) of the earlier MF lenses. Actually I recall this lens was perhaps more responsible than any others for early acceptance of Nikon F by photojournalists.

BTW don't you need a teleconverter to mount nikon lenses on Pentax cameras?

Not the Non AI series. I always mount my Nikkor P 105/2.5 directly on my K100D and any Pentax DSLR without any modification to the mount and adapter in between.
