tamron or sigma?

Hey people I am looking into a standard vacation lens and did a plot graph of my last vacation to disney and most of my shots fall from 27 and 100 mm so i was thinking of getting this lens and was wondering if anyone had experience with it and opinions about it as you know i am trying to establish my vacation kit and will probably include a prime as well to get a faster fstop option since the tamron in 3.5-5.6 and the sigma is 2.8 to 5.6. any opinions welcomed or other suggestions as well

From your long list of glass it looks like you already have that covered! What about your Tamron 28-75?

wow! that's a helluva sentence! Most lens manufacturers make a 70-300 4-5.6 that works reasonably well. And they're incredibly inexpensive.

Or you could pick up pentax's SMC DA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 ED AL[IF] and be set.

Have you looked at Pentax-FA 28-105/3.2-4.5 AL IF? It is a very decent lens and light-weight too.
FA 28-105/3.2-4.5 AL [IF]

The Pentax FA 24-90 is a great lens that would cover your most used range. Hard to find nowadays though.

Cheers!

You already have some killer glass... I think most lenses in the focal length range you're looking for will be inferior to your Tamron 28-75 and your 100mm Macro (well most of the rest too, but these two lenses would make a decently small kit for the range you described).

Matt

Edit: Bring your 1.4x too. Done and done.

I am with LoudBay on this one ... the Tammy 28-75 with the TC for a nice light walk-around vacation lens ... that'd be spot on.
