FA 43 1.9 keep or sell?

I just picked up a mint condition FA 43 1.9 limited for a great price.
Now is it a keeper?
My wife has an FA 50 f1.4 and was wondering if both lenses are about the same IQ wise.
Would you keep it?

Any opinions welcome

Thanks

Randy

Yes. Fa limited lens pixie dust versus Fa 50's f/1.4. I kept both but if forced to sell, fa 50 would go.

Get out there and shoot with it; don't ask us!

If you like it and you got it at a good price, keep it and enjoy it.

These lenses - the Limiteds, carries a highly communicable disease commonly referred to as PDI which is a sub-strain of LBA. To ensure that it does not infect your entire household and family, box up the lens, being very carefully to double wrap it and send it to me for proper decontamination. Pixie Dust Infection is a terrible terminal disease as there is no known cure - other than an empty bank account.

They are very different lenses. I kept the FA43 because it is smaller, has nicer contrast and colour rendering and uniquely interesting bokeh. It is sharp in the centre wide open, and edge to edge by f/5.6

The FA50/1.4 is a pretty good portrait lens: fairly soft (not necessarily a bad thing) until about f/2.8 and nice creamy bokeh. As I have the DA*55 and FA77 though, I could not justify keeping it.

But Julie's advice is spot on. Take lots of photos with the new lens, then decide; it takes a while to warm to the FA43.

Really :-) You bought it for some reason, I assume to use. You have both lenses, so just test them and keep one or both that you like.
