The Pentax-M 28/2.8 (version I) is quite good reversed for macro. Not quite as good as the (K) 28/3.5, but at about half the cost (or less) it is a good value for that purpose. It's also good used normally.

I got the Sigma today, I am surprised at how cheap the aperture ring feels, especially compared to the rest of the lens, but otherwise in great shape. I'll shoot with it tonight. Thanks again for the advice.

The Sigma macro has yet to have any photos developed, but I managed to get one shot in with the SMC-M 28/2.8 before the roll was done. It's an early one, 63xxxxx serial number. I liked the result:

Pentax KM, Kodak Portra 160, lens: Pentax SMC-M 28mm f2.8, 1/1000s@f2.8
