FA 35mm F2 How fast auto focus?

SMC Pentax-FA 35mm F2 . Thinking of buying. I shoot at a dogpark, action. How fast does this auto focus? Was thinking of the DA 40mm pancake. But now realize most of my shots with the 18mm - 55mm kit lense that came with my K10 are taken around 24mm or 35mm. I shoot a lot without looking through the lense, reaching down to dog height and using auto focus; so it needs to be kind of a wide lense.
Am confused by some things I'm reading :

Is the FA-35mm a stop faster than the 40mm or not. Saw them somewhere listed the same.
Is the FA-35mm a "limited" series or not. What is really the difference ?

Mostly, now, I want to know how fast the auto focus as compared.

Thanks for any help. It's my birthday, and wife wants to by me a lense.

Marty

Hi,

I have the FA35 and the AF is fast enough for me, never shot dog action with it though.

1) yes, FA35 is 1 stop faster the the DA40, the FA35 is F/2, and the DA40 is F/2.8

2) no, FA35 is not a limited lens, the FA31 is a limited lens.

limited lenses are supposed to be much better then the "normal" ones, they have better construction, image quality, etc..
that is something that is reflected on the price, the FA35 costs ~300$ and the FA31 costs ~750$

hope i helped with my not so good English

I think that you are messing the FA35 f2 with the next to come DA35 f2.8 macro limited...might that be possible?

Nah, I mean the current FA-35mm lens

The current FA-35mm lens. More interested in how fast it can auto focus. How well it operates with the K10 ?
Review link posted above said it's very fast .

Marty (voicelit) How waterproof, rugged , sealed is it ?

Its aoutofocus is fast for me! It rotates only about 90 degrees from the closest centimeters to infinity, shouldn't take long, I think...
However, I have an annoying degree of back focus with it (on K1oD). It may just be my lens or body, I don't know...
