Anyone has this lens: M42 Sigma 135/2.8 Telemax YS

Hi,

Came across with this lens on eBay, auction was almost ending and the price was cheap so i pulled the trigger (impulsive buy, you must have heard of this somewhere )

Googled a bit and didn't found anything relevant on it.

It's a 135mm f/2.8 tele lens, nothing new here, lot's of m42's in this range, taks, pentacons, etc....

What made me pull the trigger (beside the price) was the fact that it claims to have 1:3 macro..

I wonder if anyone has one of this to share his thoughts?

I hopes it arrives fast, and it turns out to be a poor man's voigtlanger 125

I have one.

There's an outer ring that turns the front element allowing you to increase the magnification further.

Some info I found (not much really): Sigma Telemax 135mm f/2.8-22.0 FM=135cm (Short Telephoto) #273 - M42

is your copy any good? or is it just crap? since it has some slight macro, i hope it's good for flower and nature photos.

Honestly I haven't used the lens very much. With the outer ring engaged, it loses all sharpness wide open:

But improves with smaller aperture, I think this was 5.6:

Playing with this lens more is something I've been meaning to do.

That's abnormally soft

I've read here that it exists a 100mm F2.8 1:1 macro of the same series from Sigma, looks like it has the same soft effect :S
