40mm ltd lens on K7 camera body

Question. Will my 40mm ltd. lens work better or focus more easily on K7 than on my old K100D.
The reason I'm asking is will the larger (more than double) pixel count on the K7 facilitate taking better
or more easily focused shots. I do really love the 40mm except I don't use it much because it needs over 20"
to focus properly and I tend to want to shoot much closer than that, like maybe 11" to 17".
My 40mm ltd is in mint condition and I probably would trade it in for a good Da50mm pentax prime, even swap,
If I can be assured that the 50mm lens will focus better than the M 50 1.7mm lens that I have that is very sharp but
almost impossible to focus. I'm trying to get to a fast prime lens that works well in low light. My smc Takumar 55mm
focusses very nicely and is a great lens but I want something that is easier to change. I have the Sigma 50mm 2.8 EX
that focusses wonderfully down to about 4".
Suggestions are eagerly hoped for here. I'm getting my K7 in December (used, if I can get a very good copy under
50,000 actuations). Not to sound morbis, but I'm 74 years old and trying to plan on a good , affordable setup that will take me thru my final years. Freddy

I don't know if "catch-in-focus" was implemented on the older bodies,
but it's a good way to use a fine MF lens if you have trouble focusing it directly.

Unfortunately it won't focus any closer on the newer body. And the sensor resolution won't be more forgiving of misfocused shots.

At least the pentaprism viewfinder should offer some improvement for focusing and composing, compared to the pentamirror in your K100D, when using any of your lenses.

Maybe get a 35/2.8 Macro Limited instead as you can focus as close as you want, the trade-off is AF speed.
