Wow! Pentax FA43mm

Just got mine in yesterday from B&H, I'm using it on my K5, what an incredible lens. It is my first lens upgrading from the 18-55 WR kit lens and I'm very blown away by the detail it captures. Its also really nice finally being able to take some lowlight photos. Anyone esle pick one up recently?
Btw that last one of my friends I bumped the ISO up super high just to see how it would look, either 6,000 or 8,000 and I think it came out not too bad for being so high.

It's an amazing lens - I love mine to death.
Of your images, the cat's eye is stunning.

Thank you, after reading about the lens online for so many days I was getting a little nervous because it seemed alot of people were saying that its an awkward focal length on apsc and it was difficult to work with. But I've found it to be a dream, I love what this lens can do. I would love to see what the 31mm is like

One of the finest lenses on the market..... You can't go wrong with it...

Will try to make pictures this weekend with FA31 to compare it with my Touit 32....

Personally, I think even my cheap K55 or M50 would have produced the similar result. Don't take me wrong, I know 43 ltd is a wonderful lens, but probably these example pictures doesn't bring out anything special.

I'll agree with you there, nothing too special. Just wanted to share some of my first shots with it. I would love to see more shots with these, feel free to share anything if you have a couple you can think of

All focal lenghts are just the perfect length for some people and the wrong one with others.

You can tell this is an AIV lens as there is lack of super sharpness and no 3d pop

It is the OP's first shots with the lens, and none of those three images have the required lighting and subject depth to create what you claim to be unique to MIJ lenses. With practice and familiarity I'm sure DrunkenToaster will be getting images to pop nicely.

Thank you Sandy, I would also say to chesebert that if you were looking for super sharpness these aren't the photos for that, the only one that had a chance of displaying super sharpness is the one of my cat, and that was shot wide open at 1.9 so I think youre just being nitpicky
