Just bought the pixie dust

Just placed an order for a 43mm Limited. Will be selling my FA 35 and FA 50 1.4. Justifying by "consolidating" the 35/50 into one lens, AND of course I hope my particular copy will come with an extra sprinkle of pixie dust

Someone on this forum long time ago said I would eventually succumb to the calling of the limited lenses. I held out for a few years, but I guess when I finally gave in I came down with a crash. 21, then 77, then 15, and now the 43 - all within the last six months. Argh - LBA is a terrible disease.

Sold my 10-20 already, and will be selling my beloved 16-50 as well as soon as I get it back from Cris... All I have to do is resist the urge to keep them

Hope the pixie dust will help me...

Henrik

How does the 15 DA compare to the 10-20 in your use? I mean do you miss the range or is the size and quality that much better for you? I am thinking of getting a 15 DA in the future. My wife has the 10-20 which I often borrow. Thanks.

About a month ago I took postion of a used 70 DA ltd and for the last 200 images 3 of them are with the 10-20 the rest with the 70. Really enjoying it. Will see just how much I like it when on holidays next week.

With true LBA you would keep all your existing lens and just buy more to supplement not replace them

This year I used my 10-20mm for just 1% of my pictures, and my 21mm for 9%. I actually liked it quite a lot, and have some excellent pictures from it, though composing well with a UWA is difficult. Issue was really that I almost always ended up leaving it behind, going for my smaller lenses, or - if bringing more equipment - went for long or my DA* 16-50. I decided to go fixed/light, so dropping my 16-50 and got the 15mm very recently (2 weeks) Expect I will take a lot more pictures with the 15, since I will be bringing it most of the time. I really like it so far, and have already well exceeded picture count compared to the 10-20. Of course it is new picture below is using the 15mm btw.

Got my 77mm limited 3 months ago, and already used for 20% of my photos for the whole year - probably 2000? Always seem to be mounted on one of my two cameras. Love the results I get from it. Definitely blessed with pixie dust! Now my favorite lens

. So true. Definitely not LBA then. And since I now have fewer lenses, I should probably make up for it... hmmm.... Seems i have a gap between 21 and 43... And it wouldn't be LBA since I don't have any more lenses than I did - well - 2 months ago

Prediction: Henrik will own a 31 within 6 months from now

As for 10-20 vs 15, I think 10mm is more fun than 15mm, but size has doomed my Sigma to mostly sitting on the shelf. The 15 is always in the bag - or on the camera.

Exactly - one in the hand.... And there is something special about that 15mm...

I said that once...then I came to realise that there is no cure! There is just...a temporary amelioration as each new lens is purchased...

Enjoy!....I picked mine up a few weeks ago and I'm just starting to use it.
I have a LBA addiction also.
I keep saying no more lenses but eventually i succumb to the dark side....

Thats a nice spread. I usually carry the 15mm and 43mm at all times as a two lens walk around kit. It is the perfect combo.

I think the FA 43 Limited has the best character of the three. The only thing I don't like about it is sometimes the bokeh can be weird. I own all three FA Limiteds, and its my favorite of the three.
