more XS lenses

Does anyone else want to see more ultra slim XS lenses? It would be cool to see a 85mm or 17mm lens that's as slim (or at least almost) as the 40mm xs. Maybe even a zoom xs lens!

The 77 might work, same with the other pancake, the 21mm.

The XS lenses were supposed to be able to sit within the open cavity within the K-01. With the cancellation of the k-01, I doubt we'll see anymore.

I'd like to see a DA12 XS,
like the Voigtlaender Heliar 12mm
for mirror-lockup use on Nikon (D)SLRs.

It's a limited, japanese market only, camera. I doubt they're going to come up with new lenses for it, but it would be cool.

I'd love something like a 24-105 XS, that would cover 90% of my shots and be somewhat tiny-fied.

But it fits and works on all other Pentax dslrs without interference from the mirror. So even though it was designed for the K-01 it doesn't need the K-01 to function nor to be sold (at least in the second hand market). Now whether or not it is a smart business move is another matter.

The 40XS is a special animal. It works on all the cameras, but to make other lenses smaller, the plan was to recess them into the body(wasnt necessary with the 40). I suppose they could salvage the branding and simply not do that. I am not invested in being right; I just don't expect to see more. I'd be happy to be wrong.

I'm all for the XS lens series - I think there is great potential to have a line dedicated to dMLs (digital mirror-less) cameras (ASPC or FF) in k-mount.

AFAIK, Rakuten ships pretty much world-wide.

oh wow I didn't know that. But yeah if they could achieve almost that level of thinness without having it go in the body it would be great. Basically like a plastic and slightly thinner version of the limited series.

I'd be willing to bet that the only way they'll produce more XS lenses is if they continue the K-01 line (with a K-02) or equivalent mirrorless with a K mount. We're on the same page.
