Tokina ID help

Anyone know what this is?
The person claims it is a Tokina atx-pro17-35 3.5 but I can't find anything about it.
I thought it could be a 17mm but I believe that model is manual...it is obvious this one is AF.

Thanks

Randy

Is it the 20-35? Didn't come in a Pentax mount...

It's a prime. See the DoF scale?

It's the Tokina 17mm prime lens. It's an AF lens, the mount pictured is a Nikon mount. It's okay optically, but larger than you think when you have it in your hands. I've had one a while back, never really grown to like it much.

Which Tokina 17mm lens

My mistake on the original post - as I had not remembered the designation properly. All changes are made in italics and with a cross out. The posting made below mine is correct. The SL was an earlier MF version.

This is the AT-X 17mm (and it likely is Nikon mount as others indicated). The AT-X Pro had a plastic band around it with window to show the distance markings. Supposedly the AT-X is the best of the Tokina 17s based on the 7-blade iris and push-pull clutch. Only the At-X Pro version had the window.

This lens almost certainly is an SL I had this non-windowed versioned in a Canon mount. A bit funky with the AF/MF push pull system (very firm action), but solid build as usual with the old Tokina line. The lens was totally unremarkable with no glaring faults. Not terribly sharp or soft at center or corners, considerable barrel distortion (but not overwhelming), less than excellent anti-flare control. As has been widely reported, the 12-24 is markedly sharper (but then again the 17 didn't have terrible CA). It was functional on a 5D, and was sold to a friend along with the 5D. I'm not sure there would be any good reason to go with this lens on a crop sensor given better short zoom alternatives.

I would say the Pentax 16-45 is a tad sharper and better overall (but not in build of course), but only a ballpark comparison given we are comparing FF in one mount against crop in another mount.

It's the ATX Pro series. The Pro series for some reason got rid of the distance window.

The owner insists it is a k mount. I asked for more information and pics and hopefully he will send them to me.
Is it possible that it is Tokina made but a different brand?

Thanks so far

Randy

I think it's possible. What's for sure is the picture is not the actual item.
